‘Cava’ is the term indicating according to the Greek appellation rulesthat a wine of such a type has been aged for at least three years: this one has been aged in cask for three and has enormous depth and a luscious aftertaste. The small proportion of Mavrodaphne (the basis of the great sweet wines of the northern Peloponnese) darkens and sweetens this chocolatey, toffeeish, viscous wine.
The wine was named Best Old World Red by Steven Spurrier in the March 2006 issue of Decanter.

This wine (of which 30,000 bottles were produced) is from a single vineyard of 2.8 hectares located near Embonas at an altitude of 750-800 metres with a north west orientation. The vines are 15-18 years old and planted on stony ground with light clay. A classic but gentle method of vinification has been followed resulting in a delicate, fresh wine. There are notes of pear, honey and lime, excellent acidity and a quite distinctive minerality.

This first vintage from the new estate run by Tselepos in the Koutsi district of Nemea promises great things: a generous wine that combines lusty tannins with an abundance of ripe fruit, enriched by hints of eucalyptus and green pepper. It is very smooth and has a velvety finish. It will repay several years' cellaring.

Made from a selection of Malavasia Istriana grown on white clay (70%) and black (30%). The colour is straw yellow with greenish reflections, its aromas are fresh and fruity with a hint of orange blossom. Light body with dry, well balanced taste.
This first rate vintage of this single vineyard wine suggests aromas of mature red fruits and spices with a touch of vaniila and coffee. It is beautifully balanced with a perfect tannin structure and has a lingering finish. It can be cellared for 8-10 years.

Avlotopi is a single vineyard Cabernet made only in those years in which Tselepos considers the conditions to be perfect. This is a superb Cabernet, the result of contemporary vinification techniques and aged in new French oak for 18 months. It is a deep, very flavourful and highly structured wine. It was awarded 4 stars by Decanter.

Fermented and aged a few months in oak, this Mantinia takes a delicate bronze colour. The nose is very seductive with aromas of rose petal, rhubarb and quince. The flavours follow through nicely with a hint of toast on the finish. The oak is so well integrated it can not be separate from the wine.
